It was 1996, and all we wanted to do was live in the mountains and make great spirits. Over the years, that spark grew into a passion for making the best tasting spirits with the most natural ingredients available. Today, Crater Lake Spirits is one of Oregon’s oldest and largest distilleries serving up traditional spirits with spirited infusions.

The Madras

  • 2 oz. Crater Lake Vodka
  • 2 parts cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 part orange juice
Shake and strain over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. Could also be made with Crater Lake Sweet Ginger Vodka or Crater Lake Pepper Vodka for a twist!

Smoky Bloody Marys

  • 6 slices peppered bacon⁠
  • 3 1/4 cups tomato juice⁠
  • 1 1/4 Crater Lake Pepper Vodka⁠
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 3 lemons)⁠
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish⁠
  • 2 teaspoons chipotle hot sauce⁠
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce⁠
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt⁠
  • Freshly ground pepper⁠
  • 6 stalks celery with leaves⁠ ⁠
Directions⁠: Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crisp, 9 to 11 minutes. ⁠ ⁠ Meanwhile, combine the tomato juice, Crater Lake Pepper Vodka⁠, lemon juice, horseradish, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper in a pitcher; refrigerate until ready to serve.⁠ ⁠ Pour the Bloody Mary mixture into 6 large ice-filled glasses. Add a piece of bacon and a celery stalk to each.⁠

Campfire Whiskey Sour

  • 2 1/4 oz Crater Lake Spirits Rye Whiskey or Reserve Rye Whiskey
  • 1 6 inch rosemary stock
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz dark maple syrup
In a cocktail shaker, combine the rye, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Light the sprig of rosemary on fire and add to the shaker still lit. Cap the shaker and let stand for 30 seconds so that the mixture can infuse with smoke. Fill the shaker with ice; cap and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with the remaining rosemary sprig.

Perfect Pepper Bloody Mary

  • Slice of lemon or lime
  • 2 oz Crater Lake Pepper Vodka
  • 4 oz tomato juice
  • 1/2 oz Demetri’s Bloody Mary Spice Blend
Muddle your lemon/lime in the bottom of a pint glass. Add ingredients over ice in the pint glass. Shake to mix and pour contents, including ice, into a salt rimmed glass. Garnish with celery stalk, lime or lemon, olive and pickled asparagus spear.

Island Dreams

  • 2 oz Sweet Ginger Vodka
  • 2 oz Mango Puree
  • 1 oz Coconut crème
Shake and pour into collins glass; top with club soda, and garnish with a lime.  

Gin Gimlet

  • 2 oz Crater Lake Prohibition Gin
  • 2 oz Lime juice
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
Shake over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lime.

Ruby Red Back Alley

  • 1.5 oz Hatch Green Chile Vodka
  • 1.5 oz Lime juice
  • .75 oz Vanilla simple syrup
  • 2 Ruby Red grapefruit slices
Muddle one grapefruit slice in the bottom of a pint glass, then top with ice and remaining ingredients. Strain into a chilled martini glass with a salted rim, and garnish with remaining grapefruit slice.
